18″ x 24″ | Acrylic on canvas
This painting was stolen from Art Outside – an art festival in near Austin, TX – on Sunday, October 21, 2012. It disappeared right off the gallery wall, with a security person present. If you have any information regarding its whereabouts, PLEASE contact me so I can see its return.
This piece was begun in 2002 in a slightly different iteration, but the original piece was destroyed by the forces of moisture and mold. I then began the piece that is pictured here in 2005 as a rebirth of the original. I have worked on it only occasionally, but I have never considered it “finished.” It has been shown several times, but always as a work-in-progress. I never got a decent photograph of it, and I never signed it. I would very much like it returned to me.
*UPDATE*
With boundless gratitude I am happy to report that this painting has been returned to me by the person who took it (with a little help from their friends). Also happy to report that I have been inspired by its kidnapping and cross-country adventure, and have begun working on it again.
